Knitting for newborns: How Catherine Potter makes a difference

CatherinePotter,a member of the Canadian natural gas pipelines team,is an avid knitter and has dedicated hertime to createunique dolls, octopuses,andhats forchildren in need.Over the last year, Catherine has sent dozens of her creations to theAlberta Children’s HospitalandNICU Family Care.
“We all need help at different times in our lives, especially when it comes to helping children in need,” says Catherine.
“It really does take a village to raise a child, and so it’s important for me to help where I can in that process, even if it’s as simple as making a hat for a baby being transported via ambulance. If I can provide families with a small sense of comfort during a difficult time like that, I’m happy.”
TC mgm 바카라’s workforcegiving and volunteering program, Empower,supports and encouragesour peopleto give back to their communities in ways that resonate with them personallyby providing rewards to those who volunteer and matching donationsto registered charities.Through Empower, in 2019, our workforce helped to contribute C.1 million in funding to 4,680 deserving causes across North America.
Catherine is drawn toand has a personal connection withthese charities because she had a niece who was born premature. “When I saw theOctopus for a Preemie Program, it immediately seemed like a good fit. I remember what my sister-in-law went through and all the challenges related to that trying time. I have personally witnessed how these gifts can impact families who are struggling and what it means to them to receive something homemade while knowing that someone is thinking of them.”
Through her dedication and passion,Catherinehas logged over 460 volunteer hoursin Empowerwithin the last year.
